stands for continuity and renewal and reflects my consciousness, interests and feelings.
Photography has occupied me since my youth; initially still the analogue possibilities including darkroom processing. Both a good foundation and
school of vision! With the introduction of digital possibilities, I have been fascinated by their diversity from the very beginning. Here, digital post-processing usually takes as much time as the time of taking the picture.
Photography is seemingly so easy! It has undoubtedly never been so easy
to take "respectable" photographs. With today's possibilities more than ever. However, with higher standards, growing experience, it becomes increasingly difficult to capture the special image to discover and let it emerge through the final processing.
"We find it most difficult to see what we have before our eyes."
All too often we carelessly pass by many things or situations that would be worth looking at for a longer time, to see, to discover what is special in them. I am an architect. This is certainly the reason for my special love of landscape, architecture, ordered design lines and ultimately abstraction, i.e. detachment from the representational. I seek the order inherent in things, natural and artificial structures, both large and small. I seek to simplify, love the minimalist. Also, breaking away from the usual photographic guidelines, the experimental such as multiple shots, Intentional Camera Movement techniques or Out of Focus shots enable me to show or convey things that make a new situation or a new reality visible.
My images are always emotionally determined, even if they may seem clear and logical at first glance. For me, photography is not about reproducing what it looks like but how it feels to me.
My aim is not to document reality, but rather to interpret it or to reproduce it as I see and feel it. My pictures are subjective, rarely objective. I respect reality, but the subsequent processing is equally important to me. I try to emphasise the characteristic, to strengthen it, but I avoid strong manipulation. In doing so, I am aware that the manipulation of reality already begins with the choice of the image detail.
"The important thing is not to be better than everyone else.
What is important is to be better than you were yesterday!".
Wichtig ist, besser zu sein als du gestern warst!”.
