OKTOBERFEST
Oktoberfest is also called the 5th season, at least in Bavaria. Not a folk festival like others. But the epitome of a folk festival. In Germany, but still not typically German. A meeting place for people from all over the world. Italians, Japanese, Americans, visitors from Africa and the Middle East and from many other countries. A festival of superlatives. A festival of clichés. Tradition since 1810. Beer, brass music and hits, dirndl, lederhosen. Brutal, colourful, light-intensive, cheerful, sociable, loud and over 6.5 million people in 18 days. Unbelievable. Men, women and children, families, old and young. they all come. A festival for everybody, but not for everyone. For the photographer, however, an Eldorado.
Oktoberfest wird auch die 5. Saison genannt, zumindest in Bayern. Kein Volksfest wie andere. Sondern der Inbegriff eines Volksfestes. In Deutschland, aber dennoch nicht typisch deutsch. Treffpunkt von Menschen aus aller Welt. Italiener, Japaner, Amerikaner, Besucher aus Afrika und dem Mittleren Osten und aus vielen andere Ländern. Ein fest der Superlative. Ein Fest der Klischees. Tradition seit 1810. Bier, Blasmusik und Schlager, Dirndl, Lederhose, brutal, farbig, lichtintensiv, fröhlich, gesellig, laut und über 6,5 Mio. Menschen in 18 Tagen. Unglaublich. Männer, Frauen und Kinder, Familien, alt und jung, sie alle kommen Ein Fest für jedermann, aber nicht für jeden etwas. Für den Fotografen jedoch ein Eldorado.
